Frequently Asked Questions

Can I still see you if I’m not pregnant or postpartum?

Yes!

Our passion is to help pregnant moms, new moms, and babies; but we see whole families (older children and dads too) benefiting from chiropractic care in our office.

We care for and care about all who are looking for help. You do not have to be a mom or be female to become a patient here.

Do you adjust babies and children?

We do and we love it. Dr. Kristen has obtained extensive training in pediatric chiropractic care and continues to receive more every year. The techniques she utilizes are safe, gentle, and very effective for the uniqueness of a little one’s nervous system and spine.

In fact, the same pediatric techniques are adapted for the adults we see here too, so all everyone can benefit from gentle chiropractic care.

Do you offer family discounts?
We do! Our base discount is 15% off when two family members are cared for the same day and 25% off when three or more family members are cared for the same day. There are other discounts, but it depends on what type of service and care plans you need.
How do I get started in your office?

To start care with us, we first require a phone consultation with Dr. Kristen Hager.

That appointment can be scheduled at https://delightful.janeapp.com/ and please select the “Phone Consultation” option.

If you know you want to skip the phone consultation and get started right away, visit https://delightful.janeapp.com/ and select the new patient appointment type that best describes your case.

What should I expect during the first appointment?

Great question!

Please visit the answer at this link (what to expect).

Is there paperwork needed to fill out before the first appointment?
The intake paperwork specific to your case can be emailed to you or be filled out online once you’ve logged into your JaneApp profile for this office:

https://delightful.janeapp.com/login

If you forget or are unable to complete it ahead of time, no worries! We will have any necessary paperwork available for you to complete once at the office. If this the case, we ask that you please arrive 15 minutes early to allow time for the paperwork; so you will still able to meet with the chiropractor at your scheduled time.

How often should I come in for chiropractic care?

As often as is recommended in your personalized care plan.

When accepting care in this office, you accept a specific frequency of appointments over a specific course of time that will best help you reach your health goals and overcome your health challenges that were uncovered on your initial examination. This can be more frequent when you’re in pain, and less frequent when your goal is to maintain the results.

Do you accept insurance?

We are out-of-network (OON) providers for all health insurances.  You may have great OON coverage with your specific plan, so feel free to call your company to confirm your plan’s benefits.

All patients will pay at time of service.  Those wanting to attempt insurance reimbursement can request a detailed receipt (often called a superbill), send the receipt into their insurance company, and what care you have received here will either count toward your deductible or your insurance will repay you when it is a covered service.

Why are you out-of-network with health insurance?

Health insurance is not designed to keep you healthy; it is meant to help pay for the expenses surrounding being sick or injured, with some coverage for preventative healthcare services.

Most of the chiropractic services we provide in this office does not fit into the parameters of sick or injury care; so even if we were in network, your health insurance would not cover our services.  Additionally, your session may include myofascial release and/or cranial-sacral techniques which are non-covered manual therapies.

We love being able to give our patients our best recommendations, without facing the repercussions of being kicked out of network because we serving beyond their regulations.

Is there anything I can do at home to help support my progress?

Yes! All practice members will receive home recommendations to help support continued progress between appointments. Your personalized care plan will have customized stretches, exercises, and lifestyle changes to help you achieve your health goals quickly and maintain them for the long-term.

How long are appointments?

Your first appointment in our office is typically the longest appointment because we must uncover the complete health history surrounding your concern. Depending on the complexity of your case, your initial examination visit will last between 45-90 minutes.

After that, typical visits in the office range from 10-30 minutes, depending on what care you receive (cranio-sacral techniques require more time) and what in-office therapies are also scheduled for your visit.

Progress exam appointments will add an additional 10-15 minutes to your adjustment time, as will sessions with home care instructions. These special appointments will be part of your care plan recommendations; and we will remind you ahead of time when you’re due for them, so you can plan accordingly.

Once I start, will I have to keep seeing the chiropractor forever?

We believe chiropractic care received consistently over an entire lifetime is a very healthy choice! But no. No one is making you see a chiropractor for the rest of your life. Just like no one is making you brush your teeth for the rest of your life… although, you will be healthier and wiser if you did it.

Most people continue with some sort of maintenance schedule after their initial restorative care plan, but we give our patients many of the tools needed to maintain a good level of health on their own.

We love chiropractic. We love the chiropractic lifestyle, which means getting checked and adjusted often to keep your nervous system running optimally so you can better adapt to whatever stressor life is throwing at you.

Dr. Kristen checks her family weekly, and we gladly offer that same level of care to those who want it. Your frequency of checks can easily be spaced further apart without detrimental health effects, and we partner together to keep you on track.
