Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic Care is a holistic approach to health based on the premise that the human body is designed with the innate intelligence to heal itself. The Chiropractic Adjustment is how a chiropractor affects the nervous system, removing interference and helping restore communication and coordination between the brain and body. With proper communication restored, the human body experiences healing, wellness, and vitality. This natural form of health care promotes healing from within, without the use of drugs or surgery.

Webster Technique

The Webster Technique is a specific Chiropractic Technique performed on pregnant moms to properly analyze the alignment of the pelvic bones, the mobility/stability in the pelvic joints, and the tension of the soft tissue supporting the pelvis and uterus. The Chiropractic Adjustment will reduce the effects of sacral-iliac (SI) joint dysfunctions and restore proper neuro-biomechanical function in the pelvis.

Imbalances in the pelvis and its support structures contribute to the discomforts of pregnancy, and may lead to a more difficult labor and birth (ie dystocia). Because the baby’s position in the womb often reflects the tension, positions, and patterns of the pregnant mom, Webster Technique has been shown to help baby mal-presentations (such as breech position) when mom’s body balance is restored.

Cranial Sacral Techniques (CST)

The Cranial Sacral Techniques offered by Dr. Kristen are a collaboration of bodywork craniosacral therapies enhanced by gentle chiropractic adjustments. Touch points include places on the cranium (head and face) and sacrum (bottom bone of your spine by your tailbone), along with myofascial release points in too-tight muscles, tendons, and ligaments. This care relieves tension and pain, restores balance to the whole body, and resets the nervous system to a place of healing.

Prenatal chiropractic appointments include CST as part of the Webster Technique, promoting balanced tone in the support structures of the dynamic pregnant body.
